RGLAX PHARMARglax Coat

MNaq series

Metallic and pearl film coat

Solvent base metallic and pearl effect film coats, supplied in the agreed shade.

Tablets finished with an Rglax Coat metallic and pearl grade

Application

The MNaq series is a non-aqueous ready-mix film coat that gives a metallic or pearl effect finish. Each shade carries its own code, and every code runs the same way on the coater. The shade is matched and confirmed against your reference sample before the batch is released, so a repeat order reproduces the finish you approved rather than a fresh interpretation of it.

Shade codes in this series

Quote the code when you order. Shades outside this list are matched against a reference sample you send us.

How it runs

A metallic or pearl effect comes from pigment lying flat on the tablet surface, so the finish depends as much on the surface underneath as on the coat itself. A smooth core, or a seal coat below the metallic layer, gives the pigment something even to lie on. Run the lower non-aqueous band with a steady spray rather than a fast one. Confirm shade against your reference sample under the light you actually inspect under, because metallic pigments read differently in daylight and under tube light. Every code in the series runs on the same parameters, so a shade change does not mean a process change.

Build-up and solids are fixed at trial.

Common questions about MNaq series

Can a custom metallic shade be matched?

Yes. Send a reference sample and the shade is matched and confirmed against it before the batch is released, so a repeat order reproduces the finish you approved.

Does a shade change mean a process change?

No. Every code in the MNaq series runs on the same non-aqueous parameters, so switching shade does not mean requalifying the process.

Why does the finish look uneven on some cores?

A metallic effect depends on pigment lying flat, so the surface underneath matters as much as the coat. A smooth core, or a seal coat below the metallic layer, gives the pigment something even to lie on.
